General Description of academic gowns and hoods for Canadian Universities

The Bachelor's Gown is of the traditional style, with long pointed sleeves, panels down the front, and pleating around the yoke.
The Master's Gown is of the traditional style with closed sleeve that goes below the knee, and has a T slit between the shoulder and elbow. It has panels down the front, and pleating around the yoke.
The Doctoral Gown in Canada usually follows the patterns and styles set by the institutions in the United Kingdom, and each university decides its own specifications and colors.
Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral hoods in Canada are also decided on by each university when it comes to the specifications and colors.
Hats usually worn at Canadian universities consist of the Basic Mortarboard, Velvet Tam, and John Knox Hat.
