THE SPANISH & PORTUGUESE SYNAGOGUE: The Perfect Location for Your Celebration!

The Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue offers newly renovated modern facilities, luxurious and spacious reception halls, and separate cocktail and holding areas.

The Spanish has three areas of worship that cater to its diverse congregation. Our main sanctuary, the Mashaal Sanctuary, with its redesigned elongated aisle, creates an ambiance of enchantment and elegance for your memorable celebration and can seat over 500 persons. Our newly constructed daily chapel, the Iny Chapel, reflects the charm and warmth of our services and can seat over 160 persons. We also offer easy access to the elderly and handicapped, as our main sanctuary and two large reception halls are on the same level.

For your reception we offer you a choice of four air-conditioned halls to accommodate different sized events:

1. Lawee Hall: Suitable for 150 to 380 seated dinner guests, with a dance floor, a stage for an orchestra, a band, or a DJ, as well as a bar inside and outside of the hall.  This is our biggest hall and is the ideal venue for large receptions and events.

2. Aintabi Hall: Suitable for 80 to 200 seated dinner guests, with a dance floor a stage for an orchestra, a band, or a DJ, as well as a bar inside and outside of the hall. This elegant hall is the most popular due its size and recent renovations: namely, its woodwork, draperies, new windows and chandeliers.

3. Battat Hall: Suitable for up to 70 dinner guests, this intimate reception and conference hall is the perfect choice for small events, dinners, conferences, and meetings.

4. Chevra Chass: With a capacity of 120 people, this hall is best suited for smaller celebrations, such as bridal showers, engagement parties, and so on.

The Spanish offers its halls with or without catering services because we believe in giving our clients the choice.

Regular (non-catered) events provide clients with the hall(s) reserved, use of our facilities, and the use of the kitchen for the clients’ caterer of choice.  At the Spanish we ensure clients are happy and we will readily provide any additional service and/or supplies needed for your convenience, at a reasonable price.

All-inclusive packages are a no fuss, no–hassle way of planning your important event.  We believe in giving our clients more than service, we want them to live the experience.  Having your event at the Spanish is an opportunity for us to take part in your occasion and ensure that it is a memorable and seamless success.

Unlike other synagogues that tend to limit their clientele to one caterer, we give you the choiceof working with either La Marguerite or Simone Toledano A.S Traiteur.

The Spanish is a synagogue that accommodates the needs of all people of all ages. It caters to many age-specific events, for example: Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Brit Milahs, and baby namings.  It is also an excellent location for engagement parties, weddings, fund-raisers, Yahrzeits, anniversary parties, luncheons, bridal and baby showers, and any other type of formal or casual event you can think of.

For your convenience, we provide you with floor plans, including dimensions and suggested layouts for the halls to maximize the potential of the space. Your caterer may also suggest other table arrangements for your event. The capacity of our halls varies according to your needs and preferred set-up.
