How to Find a Caterer in Montreal
Choosing a Party Caterer
Planning a party is not always easy, there’s a lot to do. From choosing the venue to sending out invitations to even choosing what to wear, there’s always something going on. And the bigger the party, the more to do. Thanks to Super Party Factory, the ultimate online event planning directory, at least choosing a Montreal caterer, will be, well, a piece of cake! We’ll help you with tips and advice on how to the caterer that’s right for you and your party. Let’s start…
The first thing to do is to set a budget for your food expenses. Think about a price tag you’re comfortable with so that you can commit to respecting the amount and not go over budget. This is crucial, because your budget will have a lot to do with determining the type of caterer you will hire.
According to Super Party Factory, the second thing to do when shopping around for a good caterer in Montreal is to ask around. Tell everyone you know, including friends, family, colleagues, even your social media network, that you’re planning to have a party (specify the type: birthday bash, bar-mitzvah, baby shower, etc) and that you’re looking for caterer references. You’ll get plenty of names this way.
Next, check out these Montreal references. Verify if some of those names came out multiple times, this would be a good indication as to the caterer’s level of popularity. Locate these catering businesses’ websites. Check out their menus, their specialties, location and what type of service are they willing to provide. Verify if they have a wait staff for you party, check if they offer entrees as well as main course and desserts. Check to see if they also include drinks. You can get most of this information online and what you can’t find on the internet, you can call and ask to speak to one of their representatives.
Once you find a few caterers that you seem to like, the party planning website says ask to meet them in person and even go for a taste test. Set aside one day where you can visit three or four caterers and sample some foods they typically have on their menus. You can go with a friend for a second opinion and moral support of course. You can also ask them for their own references at this point or ask if they’re part of specific Montreal associations in the culinary arts industry.
At this point you will probably know who you’re going to hire. They fall into your budget category and you like they’re food as well as their customer service. You feel comfortable with their ability to deliver on their promises. Next comes, meeting with your preferred caterer to set up your personalized menu. This is going to depend a lot of the type of guests that you have, their age range and preferences. The foods you choose to serve at your Montreal party will also depend on the time and type of party that it is, not to mention the venue you’re holding the event in.
Once you’ve chosen what you’ll be serving, let the caterer prepare the feast. All you’ll have to do is eat it up when the time comes and enjoy!
